Find expert comments on every verse | Commentary

Commentaries are when someone comments and explains verses of the Bible. There are many good commentaries but David Guzik is my go-to commentator for to-the-point and helpful comments on the Bible. He provides context, background, explanations, and examples that are very helpful.

David Guzick

  • Explains confusing verses well

  • Great background, context, and insights

  • Covers almost every verse of the Bible

  • He mentions other commentators too, so it’s like a 5 in one deal.

Instructions (How to use BLB to use David Guzik’s commentary)

  1. Press on verse

  2. Text commentaries

  3. Look for David Guzik and hit the study guide that matches the chapter you are readiung

  4. Scroll down until you find in red letters the verse you’re looking for.

Find the original word & meaning of every word | Original language

The Bible was originally written in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek. Even though English translations of the Bible find words that often mean something very similar to the original word, sometimes finding the definition for the original word bring the truth to life.

Instructions

  1. Press on verse with the word you want to see the original language for.

  2. Press interlinear/Condodance

  3. Press the desired word

  4. BLB will provide, a transliteration (how to write the word in English lettering), audio pronunciation of the word, outline of how the word is used in the Bible and definition of what the meanings of the word are. (like in the English language a word can have multiple meanings, so read through the definition(s). There will be random number like (H1933) scattered around, don’t worry about that of now.)
