Learning To Find Joy
IT'S NOT EASY
Many people struggle at finding joy in the daily life. I know I did. I kept letting my mind stay filled with the depressing thoughts instead of trying to get rid of them. Many people are so focused on how they are feeling and can’t look past it. They find themselves distracted and unable to focus on what their doing or what others are saying. You try to find joy and choose a different attitude. But you can’t. At least, not alone.
IT'S NOT EASY....BUT IT'S POSSIBLE
I couldn’t choose a different attitude, I would get so frustrated and feel like it was impossible. But then eventually I realized, I was doing it all wrong. I was trying to change my attitude on my own and that is not going to work! You need God! You find your joy in him and he is the one who can change you, you can’t change yourself. So eventually I started to let go and let God take control of my life. It was not an overnight thing, it took time, it was a gradual change.
NOT JUST A GOOD JOY, BUT A GOD KIND OF JOY
I thought that if my situations changed I would be happier. I was so wrong. My situations did not change, in a way they got worse. But my attitude changed and that is what made all the difference. God showed me that joy is not something that comes on its own, it is something you need to choose and be willing to choose. I found my joy in God and he helped my attitude to want joy and choose the joy in life instead of focusing on how I felt. God helped me to mature and grow drastically. God is what needs to be most important thing in my life, not my depression. Seek God and you will find joy! Don't give up! Just give up control and let God guide you.
