THIS IS THE GENERATION
OUR HEART IS TO LOVE JESUS.
IT IS SUCH A PRIVILEGE AND BLESSING TO SERVE IN THE YOUTH MINISTRY AT CALVARY CHAPEL EAST ANAHEIM. THE LORD IS VERY CLEAR THAT OUR YOUNG PEOPLE ARE A VITAL PART OF HIS FAMILY (1 TIMOTHY 4:12) AND WE IN THE YOUTH MINISTRY TAKE THAT VERY SERIOUSLY, WE ARE BLESSED AND HUMBLED TO SERVE THESE YOUTH AND CHERISH EVERY MOMENT WE HAVE WITH THEM. AS WE CONSIDER THE PURPOSE OF THE YOUTH MINISTRY, WE BELIEVE IT IS FOURFOLD;
It is our goal and purpose that our youth will encounter the love of Jesus Christ during their time in the youth ministry at CCEA. We desire that every single student will know that they are loved by us and by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that they will know we are Christians because of our love for one another (1 John 3:11,23).
We also desire to serve our youth to the point of giving all we have to them in love and sacrifice so they will be drawn to the greatest servant of all; Jesus Christ! Jesus, the suffering servant (Isaiah 53) loved us to the point of death and it is our purpose to serve and love these precious youth with all we have.
One of the greatest and important purposes for our ministry is to teach our youth the whole counsel of God and train them to be radical followers of Jesus Christ and not merely "casual" Christians. We want them to grow in their love for God's Word and to know it. We challenge them to memorize scripture and to know why they believe what they believe (1 Peter 3:15). Our desire is that their time in the youth ministry will be a time when their faith is strengthened and that they will continue to follow Christ all the days of their lives.
TO GO AND TELL
Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 28 to go and make disciple of all the nations. It is our desire that the students in our youth ministry will have the compassion of Jesus as He did when He looked out at the multitudes who were like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:35-38). Sharing the Gospel with a lost and dying world is a vital part of the youth ministry at CCEA and that will never change. We have seen our students actively share their faith and witness the lost come to Christ. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?!
